What is “Simple Past Tense”?
Simple past tense is used for actions that started and finished at a specific time in the past.

Example : -

1. I met her yesterday. (be verbs)

2. They had a meeting last week. (verb to have)

3. We walked to school this morning. (regular verb)

4. Farah came late to the class last Monday. (irregular verb)

Read the story about four friends below.


Once upon a time, there lived a donkey, a dog, a cat, and a chicken. They left their homes to become musicians.

They walked for a long time. They were hungry, thirsty, and tired.

Finally, they saw a little house. The donkey looked through the window. Three men were eating in the house.

The animals wanted to sing for the men to get some foods. So, the dog stood on the donkey. The cat stood on the dog. The chicken stood on the cat. Then, they started to sing.
